Easy Valentines Rice Krispy Treats

I can't believe it's going to be Valentines Day in a couple of days.

Are you guys prepared and have all your cards, candy and fun things planned?  I still have a few things to do and then I'm all set too!

So this year my hubby is working an odd schedule so we won't be able to do the traditional dinner date like we usually do.  Maybe we'll do a special lunch date this year instead.  Now doesn't that sound romantic?  Lunch.  Right smack dab in the middle of the day...lol!

Anyways, I ended up making these cute and yummy little Valentines Rice Krispy Treats yesterday while I had a casserole in the oven.  If you read my Chicken Tetrazzini post you know that I almost burned the kitchen down while I was frosting these little guys.  I was in the "frosting zone" and  wasn't paying attention to anything else apparently.

Easy Valentines Rice Krispy Treats Ingredients
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
a little less than 1/2 of a bag of mini jet puffed marshmallows (Sorry I didn't measure exactly)
4 cups rice krispies
1/2 container of frosting
sprinkles

Directions
In large saucepan melt butter over low heat.

Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

Add rice krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 11 x 7 casserole dish coated with butter.  Immediately use heart shaped cookie cutters to cut rice krispies.  Place cut krispies onto a parchment lined baking sheet.

Frost the tops of the rice krispy treats and add your sprinkles.

Shauna's Tips
I did use a little less marshmallow then the traditional rice krispy recipe called for this time so they wouldn't be too sweet and they turned out perfect!

Here's the frosting that I found at Walmart with the sprinkles already on top of the container!

Enjoy!
