Who doesn't like a good hamburger?  Lately they are kind of hard to come by.  It seems like the same old thing everywhere I go.  Sure, I could change up the topping but same old, same old.

Bun, burger, cheese, tomato, pickle, mayo, ketchup, mustard and sometimes even bacon.

But still just a hamburger.

That's why we change it up a bit and make our hamburgers on bagels.  Yes, that's right... soft, delicious, buttery bagels!



Now I'm not talking about your run of the mill toasted in the toaster bagel.  Nope, that wouldn't do.

Here's how we do it in our house.  

First, pick a bagel that is super soft in the package.  This is important.  You don't want hard bagels, or day old bagels.  Pay the extra money and get the nice soft ones from your local grocery store, even if they aren't on sale. 

Then turn on your broiler and get your bagels ready by splitting them apart and buttering each side. Wait until your hamburgers are almost done to put your bagels in the oven.  This way they will be nice and hot, and the butter will be all melty!  Yum!

Ok, back to the instructions....

Put your bagels in a baking pan and place them in the broiler, buttered side up. 



Cook under the broiler until the edges start to brown.  Make sure you keep an eye on them and they don't get too done or they won't be as soft and delicious.



Assemble your burger as you normally would... and get ready to enjoy!


And yes, my husband gives these bagel burgers a "thumbs up", lol!
